AICE Media CCR: Podcast

Hey guys welcome to my podcast, Beyond the Surface: Dive Deep with Nat.  This exclusive podcast is part of my creative critical reflection on the film me and my team created “Cold Case.”  So a question that had been pending. “How does your product use or challenge conventions?” Well let me answer that. My group decided that the film would be a thriller but while researching what makes a movie a thriller it features seemed to clash a bit, which raised the question to me, what makes a movie a thriller? The difference lay in the conventions of both genres. Conventions refer to what makes a film easily recognizable and define it into its specific genre, props, characters, plot and lines can be indicators of that.  In our film, I created the blood that was used as one of the props for the film, and although blood is feature usually seen in horror films, it’s intended purpose was more for the credits and for one of the scenes mostly to allow the viewer to understand what was ha...

Well hello again dear reader! Everything seems to be in order with the movie. Maybe even an upcoming Hollywood hit? I doubt it, but we’ve tried our hardest nonetheless. The journey so far has been fun but it is still far from done.  I’ve been rewatching the movie, fearful to have missed some angles, I asked my goof friend, Stanley, for advice on which had been done in his movie. My fears were put to rest however, when I found out everything was perfect. All I want is for this final task to be a good one. There’s so much I’ve learned along the way and I’m sure my team and fellow classmates would agree. The opening sequence we created was a collective effort, of ideas, scratched out thoughts and successful pitches. Not everything was kept the same, but has something always been the same in our story. History, science and English, thought us that the process of what we create now do not always stay the same. Change however, has no reason to be something negative...

Back at IT again!

Welcome dear viewers! I thought that everything was done and perfect. The editing was done everything was ready to be turned in. So I thought, boy was I wrong. I was in my law class reading the case package with my team.  One of the other teams were reviewing their video since they had just finished editing the night before. From where I was watching, it looked really cool. There were certain features I really enjoyed , like the way they had made the credits among other things. I was curious so I asked how they did that and what program they used.  They explained everything but then I saw something interesting. The full timing for their video was 1 minute and 55 seconds. I thought the timing was kinda short so I asked why it wasn’t longer. Turns out I forgot the maximum timing of the movie was 2 minutes, and so did the rest of the team, unfortunat ely.  That meant the team had to reunite yet AGAIN to shorten. It was so hard to agree on a time. Everyone had different thing...
